Lani Diana Wijaya, Jakarta – Following Tuesday's court trial, Kivlan Zen has officially been named as the defendant in the case of illegal firearm possession. His indictment states he had retained four firearms and 117 ammunitions.
The public prosecutor mentioned two State Officials that were said to have been targeted by Kivlan, which are; Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law, and Security Issues Wiranto and Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.
"The witness Helmi Kurniawan handed Rp25 million that originated from the defendant Kivlan to another witness Tajudin. The money was to fund spy operations on Wiranto and Luuhut Panjaitan," said prosecutor Fahtoni in reading the indictment on Tuesday, September 10.
However, the prosecutors did not mention the reason behind the stakeout.
Kivlan is charged under Article 1 (1) of Law No. 12/1951 of the criminal code. The prosecutor's indictment differs from what the Indonesian National Police (Polri) which previously accused Kivlan Zen of targeting four state officials in Wiranto, Luhut Panjaitan, head of the National Intelligence Budi Gunawan, and special presidential staff on intelligence and security Gories Mere.
