Caesar Akbar & Adam Prireza, Jakarta – Suspect of treason Eggi Sudjana said that the term 'people power' he once called for has ended following the decision from the Prabowo camp (BPN) to challenge the alleged election dispute at the Constitutional Court.

"I now declare that the people power, rally at the Bawaslu headquarters is complete," said Eggi in a letter that was confirmed by his lawyer Pitra Romadoni on Tuesday, May 28.

Moreover, Eggi also called for the public to not participate in the people power movement and asked each and every Prabowo supporters to respect this decision.

Eggi Sudjana was immediately arrested after a police questioning session on Monday, May 13, for participating in an attempt to commit treason. This PAN politician and an avid member of the 212 group was deemed responsible for enticing people to take to the streets to protest against the 2019 presidential election result.

Several known pro-Prabowo figures were also questioned by police on Monday, such as a member of Gerindra Party Permadi who was bombarded with 50 questions. The notorious PAN senior member Amien Rais has also undergone police questioning for similar suspicions.
