Ryan Dwiky And Dewi Nurita, Jakarta – Spokesman for the Prabowo Subianto – Sandiaga Uno campaign team (BPN) addressed the video of the salute Jokowi received from his campaign team managers, which he deemed was an attempt to mock a situation involving Prabowo.

A viral video of Jokowi campaign team (TKN) managers saw them saluting President Jokowi, as to quip another earlier situation where a former military member saluted Prabowo Subianto and addressed the Gerindra Party leader as 'Mr. President' or "siap presiden", even though the country's new president has yet been determined.

"The TKN (Jokowi campaign team) is actually mocking how members of the PPIR (military retiree association) greeted Pak Prabowo with a military salute. Those people were retired military members who saluted Prabowo," said Andre when Tempo reached him on Monday, April 29.

However, Andre did not take the situation lightly and perceived the salute by TKN members as a form of insult against the salute of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and even called it a military blasphemy.

TKN influencer Adian Napitupulu talked about the 45-second viral video of TKN members saluting and addressing Jokowi as Mr. President. He maintained that it was not planned and denies that it was meant to mock Prabowo.

"It wasn't planned. It isn't a mockery, but the fact is that Jokowi is the president," said Adian when Tempo asked him on Monday.

The TKN Mr. President salute video is not the only one allegedly satirizing the original video of Prabowo, many internet users have satirized the event too with their own style of parody.
