Sultan Abdurrahman, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto acknowledged that he pays attention to public feedback channeled through social media platforms. He claimed, for instance, that his administration has followed up on input via TikTok.
Prabowo shared this story during his closing speech at the Science, Technology, and Industry Convention at the Jakarta Convention Center on Sunday, June 28, 2026. The gathering brought together thousands of academics, including university rectors, deans, and professors.
During his address, the Gerindra Party Chair noted that he had received a list of policy recommendations compiled by scholars. "I have received a list of proposals and questions that were quite numerous. I promise to give each one my full attention," he said.
Prabowo emphasized that he is open to listening to suggestions from anyone, including those voiced on social media. "Not only suggestions from professors, but also input from children in the villages that reach me through TikTok. I will immediately follow up," he stated.
The former Minister of Defense expressed his gratitude for modern technological advancements, which allow the head of state to quickly grasp the problems faced by citizens. He noted that difficulties in a village can reach the highest levels of government and be promptly resolved.
Prabowo cited an example involving an issue he became aware of in a village within the Nias Regency of North Sumatra. "The difficulties faced by a village in Nias were addressed promptly," he remarked, though he stopped short of providing detailed specifics about the incident.
The Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) attended by Prabowo ran from Friday to Sunday, June 26-28, 2026. The President marked his presence at both the opening and closing sessions of the event, which drew an estimated 2,600 educators, including professors, deans, and rectors.
Last Friday, during the opening of KSTI 2026, Prabowo delivered a nearly five-hour lecture to the academics. Today, on Sunday, he spoke for almost four hours in front of the attending lecturers.
The forum, titled "National Symposium," was held as part of the broader Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention. The event was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. KSTI itself is a signature initiative of President Prabowo, having made its debut at the Bandung Institute of Technology in August 2025.
