Prabowo meets journalists, experts in Hambalang for current issues

Antara, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto convened a select group of journalists, observers, and experts at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, to deliberate on current affairs and the trajectory of domestic strategic policies.

Angga Raka Prabowo, Head of the Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom), confirmed in Jakarta early Thursday morning that the session in Hambalang spanned from Tuesday evening, March 17, into the early hours of Wednesday, March 18.

"The President engaged in discussions and interviews with several journalists, observers, and experts regarding current issues to respond to both global geopolitical dynamics and evolving domestic strategic policies. This meeting is a forum for in-depth dialogues on the government's direction in navigating challenges and addressing the critical questions currently captivating the public," Angga Raka Prabowo stated, detailing the content of the meeting.

"The session, which ran from 7:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. WIB on March 17, 2026, is intended as a concrete step toward fostering national optimism and realizing the goals of national transformation," Angga added.

During the exchange with the assembled experts and media figures, he noted that Prabowo reaffirmed his commitment to bolstering synergy across all national sectors.

"The President remains fully dedicated to strengthening collaboration with various elements of the nation, inviting all parties to join hands in the collective effort to build the country," he remarked.

As documented on the official @presidenrepublikindonesia social media account managed by Bakom, the dialogue adopted a roundtable format. President Prabowo was seen flanked by Retno Pinasti, a senior journalist currently serving as editor-in-chief of SCTV-Indosiar, and Hasan Nasbi, the former head of the Presidential Communications Office and a political consultant.

Joining them at the table were Muhammad Chatib Basri, former finance minister, economist, and lecturer at Harvard University; Najwa Shihab, journalist and founder of Narasi; Rizal Mallarangeng, founder of the Freedom Institute and political observer; and Mardigu Wowiek Prasantyo, an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and content creator.
