Tempo, Jakarta – Indonesia's PT Pertamina (Persero) announced that as many as 688 fuel stations, or 98 percent of the total stations in the disaster-affected areas in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, are operational.
"For the fuel stations, most of them have been repaired. We have maximized the operation of the fuel stations for 24 hours to reduce the queues, which were quite long some time ago," said President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Simon Aloysius Mantiri, as reported by Antara on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Pertamina also increased the number of service attendants at the fuel stations, including obtaining support from the TNI and Polri personnel.
Simon emphasized that the main focus at the moment is the distribution of energy in several isolated and hard-to-reach areas.
"For example, in Central Aceh and Bener Meriah, where some time ago we chartered a pioneer aircraft to deliver solar for heavy equipment, and we will also deliver using a larger volume Hercules," said Simon.
Other efforts include supporting the operation of heavy equipment to open access roads, evacuate residents, and expedite the delivery of logistical aid. In addition to fuel, Pertamina also prepared a special mechanism to supply LPG to isolated areas.
"We are also coordinating the delivery of LPG in affected areas. And, in the near future, we will use sling load for LPG delivery while ensuring safety aspects," said Simon.
Simon reaffirmed Pertamina's commitment to continue supporting the recovery of energy infrastructure so that the distribution of fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in disaster-affected areas can return to normal.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the Pertamina Group quickly moved to assist disaster victims by distributing disaster relief aid in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh since November 28, 2025, in several phases.
Efforts to distribute energy and humanitarian aid were carried out through land, sea, and air routes until December 7, 2025. Pertamina Peduli's aid has reached up to 77,794 people.
The company also set up 161 posts, opened 111 public kitchens at several points in the affected areas. Pertamina also distributed energy support in the form of 275 Bright Gas cylinders, 25 kiloliters of Dexlite, Pertamax, and Biosolar fuel, as well as 19.8 kiloliters of Avtur fuel.
The total realization and aid distributed by the Pertamina Group to the disaster-affected communities in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra amounted to Rp5.3 billion.
