Ervana Trikarinaputri, Jakarta – Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni is planning to revoke the Forest Utilization Business Permit (PBPH) owned by 20 companies managing a total of 750,000 hectares of land in Indonesia.

These companies are spread across Indonesia, including in three provinces affected by recent ecological disasters, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. However, Raja Juli mentioned that his ministry has to wait for the approval from President Prabowo Subianto.

"After obtaining approval from the President, we will proceed to revoke the permits of around 20 PBPH companies that have been performing poorly, covering approximately 750,000 hectares across Indonesia, including in the three affected provinces," Raja Juli stated during a working meeting with the House Commission IV (DPR) at the MPR/DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

However, the PSI (Indonesian Solidarity Party) politician refused to disclose the detailed identities of these companies, stating that he will announce them to the public after receiving Prabowo's blessing.

"I cannot report the exact area at this time," Raja Juli mentioned.

"This is part of the recommendations I am currently reading, that we will carry out the rationalization of PBPH and impose a moratorium on new permits for the utilization of plantations and natural forests," he added.
