Daniel Ahmad Fajri, Jakarta – Clothes and jackets are hanging on the fences around the houses in the village of Matang Maneh, Jambo Aye, Aceh Regency, Indonesia, on Wednesday, December 4, 2025. This area was one of the regions affected by the floods at the end of November. "We are having difficulty accessing clean water," said Iskandar, one of the local residents.

A teenage girl wearing a brown headscarf is seen sitting in the water channel in front of Meunasah, a typical multipurpose building in Aceh. In front of Meunasah, the connecting road between villages is still covered in mud.

Occasionally furrowing her brow, the girl rubs a sponge up and down the plate she is holding. This teenager appears to be surrounded by buckets containing utensils and kitchenware. Across the ditch, there are buckets, rice cookers, and other cooking utensils visible.

Iskandar mentioned that Desa Marang Maneh has more than 400 Family Cards, yet they have not had much access to clean water. The majority of the residents live in Meunasah.

A similar situation is occurring in Gapong Ujong Pacu, Muara Satu, Lhoksumawe City. "We wash using flood water," said Hermanuddin, one of the residents.

Hermanuddin stated that there are about 1,000 inhabitants residing in Ujong Pacu. This man, who works as a farmer, said that all residents have taken refuge in Meunasah instead of tents.

According to Hermanuddin, the floodwater engulfed almost the majority of the houses in Ujong Pacu after heavy rainfall on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Hermanuddin mentioned that the water level reached over three meters.
