Vedro Imanuel Girsang, Jakarta – A massive fire tore through three two-story homes in a residential complex on Pademangan Raya Street, Pademangan District, North Jakarta. Fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at about 03:55 a.m. local time.

According to a release from the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat Jakarta) Command Center on Wednesday, the affected houses were semi-permanent structures.

According to the firefighters, the fire was triggered because "the homeowner was burning copper" when the fire "spread to styrofoams located next to the house."

The fire rapidly grew in intensity due to the gusts brought by passing trains near the settlement. Subsequently, the fire spread to neighboring houses, increasing the number of affected homes.

As a result of the incident, four residents lost their lives, as confirmed by officers.

The Head of the Pademangan municipal police (Satpol PP), Asromadian AB, said that one of the deceased was pregnant at the time. "The casualties include SN (55), who was pregnant – SM (20), as well as two children, AS (11) and UD (2)," he conveyed, as reported by Antara.
