Jamal Abdun Nashr, Jakarta – The Pati City Police have deployed personnel to several points to secure the protest demanding the impeachment of Pati Regent Sudewo. The United Pati Community held a demonstration on Friday, September 19, 2025.
The Pati City Police stationed officers at three locations: the Pati Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) building, the Pati Gerindra Party Regional Office, and the Pati Regional Party Committee Office.
"The points where the actions will take place have been prepared for security measures," said the Head of the Pati City Police, Commissioner Jaka Wahyudi. "Officers will be deployed proportionally so that the public feels safe."
According to Jaka, his personnel will act persuasively in escorting the protest. "We prioritize humanistic, dialogical steps, as well as direct coordination with the action coordinators," he said.
However, Jaka emphasized that they will take firm action if any violations occur during the protest. "We will not tolerate anarchic actions or actions potentially damaging public facilities," he said.
The demonstrators demanding the impeachment of Sudewo will gather in front of the Pati Regent's Office. They will then head to the Pati's DPRD Office.
Previously, a similar protest was held on August 13, 2025. Sudewo's decision to raise land and building taxes by 250 percent, as well as several other programs, triggered this protest. The demonstration ended in chaos.
The Pati's DPRD formed a Special Inquiry Committee amid the protest. The inquiry committee is currently investigating alleged violations committed by Sudewo during his tenure.
