Oyuk Ivani Siagian, Jakarta – The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have intensified large-scale patrols following incidents of vandalism and unrest during protests that have taken place since August 25, 2025. The patrols are intended to restore public confidence and ensure safety across the capital.

"It's still ongoing. Essentially, this is part of our routine activities. The patrols by Bhabinkamtibmas (Community Police Officers) are carried out regularly," said Jakarta Police spokesperson Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi outside the Parliament Building in Central Jakarta on Friday, September 5, 2025.

According to Ade Ary, the patrols are conducted every day at 04:00 PM and 08:00 PM. All 13 district police commands under Jakarta Metro's jurisdiction are taking part.

"The 13 district police also conduct large-scale patrols, together with the three pillars: police, military, and local governmen, depending on the situation," he explained.

The head of Jakarta Police's Operations and Cooperation Bureau, Commissioner Isa Ansori, said the patrols aim to monitor conditions on the ground and maintain order. A total of 147 personnel from joint forces have been deployed, working alongside community groups.

"We hope these efforts will bring daily life back to normal, free from disturbances, so people can work and go about their activities calmly," Isa said in a press release on Friday.

He added that nighttime patrols will cover key routes in South Jakarta, starting from the Jakarta Police Headquarters on Trunojoyo Street, moving through Prapanca Raya and Antasari, passing Poins Square, then heading to Senayan City before returning to headquarters. Smaller patrols will also be conducted in neighborhood streets and alleyways.
