Eka Yudha Saputra, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto called upon the Indonesian police to deeply connect with the people and understand their struggles. He delivered this message during the 79th anniversary of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta, on July 1, 2025.

"The Indonesian police must be among the people, must feel the suffering of the people, must feel the difficulties of the people, and must hear the cries of the people," Prabowo emphasized in his speech.

He stated that the police must also safeguard the nation's wealth as Indonesia stands on the brink of revival. He acknowledged that due to the nature of their duties, the police are a constant target.

"They will always try to undermine our police. They will try by all means to weaken the spirit of our brethren," Prabowo asserted.

On this occasion, Prabowo served as the inspector of the 79th anniversary ceremony of the Indonesian National Police. This year's celebration carried the theme of "bountiful harvest." The ceremony featured dynamic performances, including motor vehicle pursuit demonstrations, piracy control exercises, and bomb neutralization by the police's Gegana team.

In addition to these displays, the National Police provided mobile driver's license (SIM) and vehicle registration (Samsat) services for citizens seeking to obtain or renew their licenses. These services were available from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at three locations near the National Monument intersection. In the evening, the festivities concluded with a music concert featuring legendary musician Iwan Fals and the band Padi.

Aligned with the theme, the main stage was elaborately decorated with farming ornaments on both sides, including trays, baskets, farmer hats, and corn.

Indonesian National Police Chief Listyo Sigit explained that this theme was chosen to highlight the police's involvement in food security programs. He mentioned that the police aim to plant corn on 1 million hectares of land, with an estimated harvest of 4-10 million tons.

Listyo Sigit further stated that the National Police is currently cooperating with Perhutani to prepare 445,600 hectares of land ready for planting. "If the majority of this social forestry land can be used for corn planting, then the National Police will successfully achieve the target of 1 million hectares or even more," he added.
