Ahmad Fikri (Kontributor), Jakarta – Heavy rainfall on Thursday, November 21, led to the collapse of the Cisunggala River embankment in Panyadap Village, Solokan Jeruk District, Bandung Regency, as confirmed by Acting Head of the West Java Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Anne Hermadianne Adnan.
The overflow from the Cisunggala River, a tributary of the Citarik River, resulted in damage to three houses and injuries to four residents. "Preliminary reports indicate that three houses were damaged and four individuals were injured," Adnan said on Friday, November 22, 2024.
The flooding caused by the embankment collapse affected Puja Village (RT 03/02 and RT 01/03) and Panyadap Village in Solokan Jeruk District. The damaged houses belonged to Dedi (inhabited by 3 people), Idah (inhabited by 7 people), and Rini (inhabited by 4 people).
The West Java BPBD deployed two teams to the flood-affected areas in several districts of Bandung Regency. The initial reports of flooding emerged on Thursday, November 21, at 4:30 p.m. local time.
As of Friday, November 22, at 10:43 a.m., flooding was reported in various locations across six villages in three districts: Bojongsaong, Bojongsari, and Tegalluar Villages in Bojongsoang District; Dayeuhkolot and Citeureup Villages in Dayeuhkolot District; and Panyadap Village in Solokan Jeruk District.
Preliminary data suggests that the floods caused severe damage to 3 houses, minor injuries to 4 individuals, and displacement of 9 families (19 people).
Several areas remain inundated. In Bojongosang Village, floodwaters reached depths of 50-110 centimeters, while in Bojongsari Village, the depth ranged from 30-80 centimeters. Tegalluar Village experienced flooding of 10-60 centimeters, Dayeuhkolot Village 10-60 centimeters, and Citeureup Village 10-110 centimeters.
