Muhammad Aulia Rahman, Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted raids at several locations in connection with the investigation into alleged corruption involving presidential social aid (bansos) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika stated that the raids were carried out in the Greater Jakarta area.

"We cannot disclose the exact locations of the raids yet as the operations are still ongoing," said Tessa Mahardhika at the KPK office in Jakarta on Tuesday morning.

"If there are any findings from the investigators, we will provide updates on the actions taken or the items seized," Tessa added.

He also mentioned that House member Herman Hery might be questioned regarding this case. His residence is reportedly among the locations raided by the KPK.

This case extends from the social aid corruption scandal that implicated former Social Affairs Minister Juliari Batubara. Tessa emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and has not been closed.

"This case has not been halted. The investigation remains active; it's just a matter of timing and the readiness of the investigators," Tessa explained.

Earlier reports indicated that the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of 6 million packages of presidential social aid during the COVID-19 era. Tessa revealed that the total value of the social aid project suspected of being corrupted is around Rp 900 billion.

The alleged corruption involves a reduction in the quality of goods, with suspicions that the distributed aid was substandard.
