Hendro D Situmorang, Jakarta – Ahmad Doli Kurnia, the deputy chairman of the Golkar Party, recently said the existing cabinet would remain united until the end of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's term.

The reason? Jokowi's ministers were often seen accompanying the president whenever the latter made business trips around the Indonesian archipelago, according to Ahmad Doli.

"I think so far, all ministers are doing a good job with their programs. We also see President Jokowi making trips to the regions even more, and he always has the ministers accompanying him," Ahmad Doli, who is also a commission head at the House of Representatives, told Beritasatu on Monday.

"I think all the ministers also remain solid under Jokowi's leadership. They now have a few months to conclude their planned programs [before Prabowo's inauguration]," Ahmad Doli said.

Jokowi is set to hand over the presidential torch to his successor Prabowo Subianto in October. Jokowi's son Gibran Rakabuming Raka is also Prabowo's vice-presidential elect. The Prabowo-Gibran pair has vowed to carry on Jokowi's policies when they assume power. Golkar was among the parties who supported Prabowo's presidential bid.

Earlier this month, Jokowi admitted that he had met with some leaders of pro-government political parties. However, the president denied that they had talked about having another cabinet reshuffle.

Jokowi held the last cabinet shake-up in February, during which he appointed Hadi Tjahjanto as the chief security affairs minister. Hadi was replacing Mahfud MD, who had stepped down to focus on the 2024 election as presidential hopeful Ganjar Prabowo's running mate. Jokowi also picked Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono –the chair of the Democratic party– to take over Hadi's former post as the agrarian affairs minister.
