Riri Rahayu, Jakarta – The Deputy of Financing and Investment of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority, Agung Wicaksono, claims nine foreign and domestic investors will enter the new capital project.
Three companies from Malaysia, China, and the United Arab Emirates have started conducting feasibility studies (FS), he said.
"There are 9 companies, including three overseas which have a total (investment) indication of around Rp45 trillion," Agung Wicaksono said on Monday, June 10, 2024.
Agung said the three investors who had explored the feasibility study stage came from the housing and renewable energy sectors.
According to Agung, investment in the new capital still flows despite a change in leadership. As is known, the Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono, and his deputy, Dhony Rahajoe, officially resigned on Monday, June 3, 2024. Both of them were then replaced by the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono and Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR) Raja Juli Antoni respectively.
"The groundbreaking took place immediately (after the change of leadership), and the president came," said Agung.
During the sixth groundbreaking of the IKN project on June 4-6, President Jokowi inaugurated several development projects, including Gunadarma University and PLN Hub. Since the first to most recent groundbreaking, the IKN Authority recorded an investment of Rp51.3 trillion. "This is for private investment or direct investment," he said.
