Pribadi Wicaksono, Jakarta – Presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo admitted that he was not invited to Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka's declaration ceremony held by the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) in Jakarta today. Ganjar was seen this morning cycling near his home in Sleman, Yogyakarta.
Ganjar Pranowo received no invitation
When asked whether he had been invited to the declaration ceremony, Ganjar emphasized that he received no invitation to the event. "(Invited to Prabowo-Gibran's declaration?) No, no (I was not invited)," said Ganjar.
After the Constitutional Court (MK) decision hearing on Monday, Ganjar said many parties asked whether he would attend the ceremony. "Many people have asked me since last night, 'Is Mr Ganjar coming (to Prabowo-Gibran's declaration)?' Well, I didn't even receive any invitation," Ganjar added.
Ganjar was reluctant to comment further when asked about his response to Prabowo-Gibran's electoral victory declaration today. "I think you should see my statement at the Constitutional Court's decision hearing," he said.
Is Mahfud MD coming?
Ganjar said he didn't know whether vice presidential candidate Mahfud MD would attend Prabowo-Gibran's victory declaration. "I'm not sure," he said.
Ganjar claimed to have had high hopes for the Constitutional Court in handling the 2024 presidential election dispute. However, these hopes diminished after the court delivered its verdict at the MK Building, Jakarta, on Monday 22 April 2024.
