Novie Fauziah & Roy Adriansyah, Jakarta – Harvey Moeis, the husband of actress Sandra Dewi, has been identified as a suspect by the Attorney General's Office (AGO) in connection with corruption allegations related to tin trading permits issued to the state-owned company Timah.

The case has revealed several aspects of Harvey's extravagant lifestyle, including the purchase of a private jet as a birthday gift for his 2-year-old son.

Harvey has earned the nickname "Indonesia's dream husband" among netizens due to his handsome appearance, wealth, and the extravagant wedding he shared with Sandra. Harvey and Sandra's nuptial celebration took place at Disneyland Tokyo in November 2016, often romanticized as a fairytale wedding, with the couple portraying the roles of a princess and prince.

Allegedly occurring between 2015 and 2022, the corruption scandal linked to Harvey is believed to have caused environmental damage amounting to Rp 271 trillion ($17 billion), based on calculations by environmental expert Professor Bambang Hero Saharjo from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB).

In this scheme, Harvey held a specific role as a representative of Refined Bangka Tin (RBT), one of Indonesia's major tin ingot producers, in which he holds a stake.

Kuntadi, Director of Investigation at the Attorney General's Office, said Harvey reportedly reached out to the former President Director of Timah, Mochtar Riza Pahlevi Tabrani, between 2016 and 2021 to facilitate illegal mining activities within Timah's concession area.

These illicit activities were camouflaged as equipment rental agreements for tin processing. Subsequently, Harvey engaged several smelters, including CV Venus Inti Perkasa, PT Tinindo Inter Nusa, PT Sariwiguna Bina Sentosa, and PT Stanindo Inti Perkasa, in these operations.

Furthermore, Moeis purportedly urged these smelters to divert a portion of their profits to him, disguising them as corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds, overseen by QSE Manager Helena Lim, who was previously implicated in the case.

The corruption case has shed light on Harvey's lavish lifestyle, including his gifting of a private jet to his son, Raphael Moeis.

The private jet was presented by Harvey on March 25, 2019, when Raphael was only 2 years old. A snapshot of the jet landing at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport was shared by Sandra's relatives on social media.

Earlier, during a Finance Ministry event on tax regulations in Central Java on March 10, 2022, Minister Sri Mulyani referenced a child receiving a plane from their parents.

"Nowadays, on social media, children as young as 2 years old are gifted planes. Not toy planes, real ones," Sri Mulyani remarked.

Although not directly mentioning Harvey Moeis or Sandra Dewi, Sri Mulyani hinted at the age of the child receiving the plane. She made this statement while discussing individuals included in tax calculations.

"There are indeed affluent individuals in Indonesia who receive extraordinary privileges from companies," Sri Mulyani added.

In addition to owning a private jet, Harvey Moeis boasts an extensive collection of luxury cars, including a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG valued between Rp 9 billion and Rp 10 billion. His collection also features vehicles such as the Toyota Alphard, Mini Cooper, Lexus LX 570, among others. Furthermore, Moeis has a penchant for Ferrari cars and possesses a luxurious residence in Australia.
