Bagus Pribadi, Jakarta – Jakarta Metro Jaya Police raided the house of the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri in Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta, today, October 26.
Tempo observed at around 10:20 a.m. local time that police officers on motorcycles arrived at Firli's house, followed by two minibuses, one of which bore the name of the police. The police officers were seen in full uniform with vests and rifles. There are also officers donning white and black uniforms like police investigators.
They gathered in front of the No. 46 house which is surrounded by a fence about two meters high. A resident named Joko, 70, said the police arrived at around 10 a.m. He claimed to have no idea about the owner of the house.
As previously reported, Firli was questioned as a witness in an alleged extortion case committed by the KPK leaders against former agriculture minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo. The probe took place at the National Police Headquarters on Monday, October 23, 2023.
The National Police's spokesman Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan confirmed on Tuesday, Oct. 24, that the joint team of the Metro Jaya Police and the National Police's General Crime Department examined Firli.
However, Ramadhan said that despite the joint investigation, the case was still under the jurisdiction of the Jakarta Metro Jaya Police.
