Akhmad Riyadh, Antara, Jakarta – Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) head of media information, Ali Fikri, confirmed that his agency conducted a search at the Mayor's Office of Bima, West Nusa Tenggara.
"We have received information that the KPK team is collecting evidence as part of the law enforcement process," Ali confirmed in a brief text on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
Ali, however, stopped short of detailing what cases are being investigated during the search at the Bima Mayor's Office. He said the anti-graft body would first collect all pieces of evidence before disclosing the case to the public. "We will certainly announce the progress later," Ali said.
Previously, the KPK issued a summons to the head of the Bima Public Works and Agency (PUPR) Muhammad Amin on Friday, August 25, 2023.
In the letter, the PUPR head was asked to respond to the call to provide information as a witness in the investigation of corruption allegedly committed by Bima Mayor Muhammad Lutfi regarding the procurement of goods and services in the city and alleged acts of gratuity.
