Dicky Kurniawan, Jakarta – PT Blue Bird Tbk., the Indonesian taxi company used Tesla Model X 75D for their Silver Bird taxi armada. The Tesla electrical taxi is available in Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta airport with a limited 5-unit operation. However, in its operation, Bluebird admitted that the Tesla electric car was too sensitive and broke down easily.

"Tesla often breaks down since it's too sensitive. It could enter valid more all of a sudden which limited the speed. Sometimes the censor doesn't work too," said Central General Manager of PT Blue Bird Dicky Wirawan when met at Bluebird's central office in Jakarta on Monday, July 24, 2023.

However, Dicky said that Bluebird will continue to test drive with Tesla. The company also search for car alternatives to be used for the Silver Bird armada.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of PT Blue Bird Adrianto Djokosoetono said that all five units of Tesla owned by the company will be sold starting next year. "We have had five Tesla taxis since 2019. We will sell it next year, after five years," he said.

Adrianto also revealed that the Tesla will be sold in retail. People who are interested in having the ex-taxi Tesla could buy the car directly at Bluebird's assigned pool.

"So to standardize, the car will be refurbished first in the central workshop. There are specific workshops for cars we plan to sell, then the cars will be put in assigned pools. Interested buyers could come to the nearest pool or showing unit," Adrianto explained.
