Muh Syaifullah, Yogyakarta – Future presidential candidate from Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday claimed there are people who poke fun at his candidacy in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Subianto had previously run for president in numerous elections in the past.

In front of roughly 12,000 retired Indonesian soldiers at the Jogja Expo Center on Wednesday, he stressed that giving up will never be an option.

"There were those who mocked me at that time, it was ridiculous, how many times has Prabowo lost and still wants to run again? What they don't know is that Prabowo Subianto is a soldier," said Prabowo on May 3.

Prabowo emphasized that there is no such word as 'surrender' for him, citing the words of the late Commander-in-Chief, General Sudirman, on refusing to give up. He then proudly acknowledged his past as a soldier that helped him adopt the 'never surrender' mentality.

On the other hand, there are already two candidates that are predicted to run as presidential candidates from other political parties, namely Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo. He admitted that the two people are his friends and believe that both Anies and Ganjar will run as presidential candidates with good intentions.
