M Julnis Firmansyah, Jakarta – Pollster Charta Politika Indonesia on Tuesday announced that 59.7 percent of respondents from its latest survey yearn for President Joko Widodo or Jokowi to reshuffle his current Cabinet members.

One of the main aspects behind this is believed to be the significant satisfaction gap between the performance of the Cabinet and the president.

The survey that was conducted on November 4-12, showed that 69.5 percent of respondents were satisfied with Jokowi's performance, and only 60 percent of respondents were satisfied with the cabinet's performance.

"This means there is a 9 percent gap that raises the question if a [cabinet] reshuffle is necessary or not. There was 59.7 percent who agreed," said Charta Politika Indonesia executive director Yunart Wijaya in a press conference held virtually on November 29.

The Charta Politika Indonesia survey involved 1,220 correspondents under a random sampling method. This survey is claimed to have a margin of error of 2.83 percent.

Public satisfaction toward Jokowi reached 63.5 percent in September this year, as the cause of the fuel price increase. Yunarto said Jokowi's satisfaction level rose again in November up to 69.5 percent because the public deemed the government had successfully controlled inflation.

Regions that were most satisfied with the President's performance according to the survey include Central Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and East Java. While the regions with the lowest satisfaction levels were Sumatra, West Papua, and Kalimantan.
