Hamdan Cholifudin Ismail, Jakarta – The Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD had conducted a meeting discussing the alleged sexual assault case that incriminated employees of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. The joint meeting agreed that the investigation will be reopened and repeal the initial investigation termination warrant or SP3.

The meeting on November 21 was attended by the leadership of the Witness and Victims Protection Agency (LPSK), Kabareskrim Komjen Agus Andrianto, Kompolnas, the Attorney General's Office, the Ministry of MSME Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Women and Child Protection (PPA).

"We decided that the case where the rape victim was an employee of the ministry will be reopened and turn over the SP3," said Mahfud MD in a video recording Tempo received on Monday, November 21.

It is known that this rape case was initially handled by the Bogor Police, but was later stopped after the police issued SP3. police at the time reasoned that the victim has withdrawn the report.

However, Mahfud Md insists that the initial issuance of the SP3 is legally incorrect. Under the law, he explained, the report cannot be revoked. Meanwhile, the complaint can be withdrawn.

"If the number of evidence was deemed to suffice, despite the revoked police complaint, the investigation should have been continued," said the Minister.

Mahfud MD also urged the 4 suspects and 3 witnesses of the sexual assault case to be processed in court. The suspects are employees of the Cooperatives and SMEs Ministry. He asserted that the concept of restorative justice cannot be implemented in serious crimes such as sexual assault.
