Antara, Bogor – Landslides and floods in Bogor City have killed seven people for the past week. An officer of Central Bogor Police Jefri died at the fishing spot of Gang Kepatihan, Kebonkelapa Sub-district, on Tuesday afternoon, October 11, 2022.
Four people, who were identified as Simah (79), Dini (54), Iwan (24), and Warsih alias Cici (57), were buried in a landslide in Gang Barjo, Kebonkelapa, on Wednesday afternoon.
The flood following extreme weather in the city also killed a college student, Adzra Nabila, in Tegalega, Central Bogor District on Wednesday, October 12. The IPB student fell into the drainage on Jalan Dadali allegedly she was washed away by the flood currents.
She was found in the West Flood Canal in Tambora, West Jakarta, on Sunday morning, October 16, 2022.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), extreme weather has the potential to occur in most parts of Indonesia, or at least 24 provinces, from October 15-21, 2022. This includes West Java and Jakarta.
Previously, Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto, declared a disaster emergency response status until December 2022 in anticipation of extreme weather that was predicted to last long and resulted in hydrometeorological disasters in a number of areas.
