Ade Ridwan Yandwiputra, Depok – The Depok city administration said COVID-19 isolation beds at the centralized isolation site in the Guest House of the University of Indonesia's Japanese Studies Center (PSJ) were almost full.

The city's Health Agency Head Mary Liziawati said 48 of the total 56 available beds were occupied according to reports as of Feb. 9.

"Forty-eight beds at PSJ UI have been occupied, all of them are asymptomatic patients," said Mary in her official statement, Thursday, Feb. 10.

Instead of adding more isolation beds, Mary appealed to the public to self-isolate at home and pay attention to a number of guidelines issued by the Depok COVID-19 Task Force.

"During self-isolation at home, there are mandatory, prohibited, and allowed activities," she asserted.

Mary explained people undergoing self-isolation must stay in their room and are easy to be contacted, regularly wash hands with soap or use hand sanitizer, and wear masks properly if needed to leave the room.

"Then, maintain the cleanliness of the room and disinfect the room routinely, particularly on areas that are frequently touched, and make a daily report about health conditions to monitoring officers at Puskesmas (community health center) via WhatsApp," she said.

They are also not allowed to leave the room, receive guests, use the same things used by other house members, practice activities that disturb others, and smoke.

During self-isolation, COVID-19 patients are required to eat a nutritionally balanced diet, especially fruit and vegetables, and get enough rest. "Exercise, get exposed to enough sunlight, and practice a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS)," said Mary.
