Andita Rahma, Jakarta – The National Police's Criminal Investigation Department has named two personnel of the Metro Jaya Police as suspects in the unlawful killing case of six Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) members.

"We have investigated the KM 50 incident and concluded that the status of the three people reported is raised to suspects," said the National Police's Head of Public Information Bureau Brig. Gen. Rusdi Hartono at his office, South Jakarta, Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

In this case, there were initially three suspects from Metro Police but one of them died due to an accident in early January 2021 so that the investigation was stopped.

"One of the people reported identified as EPZ died. Based on Article 109 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the investigation on the person is automatically halted," Rusdi explained.

Six members of the disbanded organization FPI were shot dead by policemen at KM 50 of Jakarta-Cikampek toll road in the early hours of Monday, December 7, 2020, or at 00:30 local time.

The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) then conducted an investigation and found an alleged unlawful killing in the shooting case.
