Jakarta (Antara) – The Indonesian Students Executive Boards' Alliance (BEM SI) is set to invite President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to an open dialogue on October 21, a day after the presidential inauguration.

The students' alliance planned to stage a massive demonstration next Monday, demanding the President issue a regulation in lieu of law or Perpu on Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK.

"We invite President Joko Widodo to open dialogue established outside the room when we later hold the rally," said BEM SI coordinator Erfan Kurniawan when met near Horse Statue in Central Jakarta, Thursday, Oct. 17.

BEM SI of the Greater Jakarta-Banten region staged a protest before State Palace on Thursday, Oct. 17, which was coincided with the enactment of the controversial amended KPK Law passed by the House of Representatives (DPR).

Erfan strongly denied the allegation that the students' rally aimed at stalling the presidential inauguration scheduled on Sunday, Oct. 20. "We will not hold a protest until October 20," he underlined.

BEM SI expressed optimism that President Jokowi will issue Perpu KPK as it in lines with the latter's nine flagship program dubbed Nawacita. Erfan added that the open dialogue is part of attempts to complete democracy and evaluate the President's program.
