Fikri Arigi, Jakarta – The newly government-formed legal aid team is currently studying 13 suspected hate speech cases expressed by notable figures in Indonesia such as Kivlan Zen, Eggi Sudjana, Bachtiar Nasir, Rizieq Shihab, and Amien Rais.
The names mentioned above were discussed at the Coordinating Ministry of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs led by Wiranto on Monday. One staff member included in the team Romli Atmasasmita confirmed this.
"The inaugural meeting of the legal team discussed 13 reports," said Romli today who also said that the list of names can potentially grow.
Out of the individuals mentioned above, the team had completed their analysis on the two men most prominently known to back Prabowo Subianto; Kivlan and Egi.
According to Romli, the two men were recommended to the police following in-depth analysis by the team that concluded their previous public statements had contained criminal elements.
Eggi Sudjana was reported by a Jokowi volunteer on May 14 to the Metro Jaya Police for his video that called for "people power" in regards to the results of the election. Meanwhile, Kivlan Zen was reported to the police on May 7 by a citizen identified as Jalaludin to the police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim).
