Jakarta – Members of a joint team comprising the Jakarta Military Police, the National Police and Customs and Excise arrested two Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel on Saturday for allegedly possessing drugs, a top military official has said.
The two military personnel are identified only as HJS and H, who are both members of the Indonesian Army.
"Based on the information we gathered, the joint team arrested two personnel at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for allegedly carrying drugs," Jakarta Military Command spokesperson Col. Kristomei Sianturi said on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.
The two were allegedly carrying a total of 48.97 grams of sabu-sabu (crystal methamphetamine). After carrying out further investigation, the team arrested a civilian linked to the case identified as A.
"A was arrested in Bogor, West Java. He was alleged to have ordered [the drugs]. From him, we also confiscated two packages of meth weighing 0.7 grams," Kristomei said, adding that the three were still being questioned. (fac)
