Sultan Abdurrahman, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto said that many Indonesian farmers can now take vacations abroad. He stated that this condition shows that farmers in the country are starting to live prosperously. The Chairperson of the Gerindra Party received reports about this situation.

"I have received reports that many farmers are now vacationing abroad; it's okay, they can take a break. When else can farmers go on vacation abroad if not now," he said during his speech at the National Cooperative Day in Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Prabowo said that his government will focus on making farmers, fishermen, and laborers prosperous. He added that as Indonesia's economy continues to climb, capital will flow directly into every village, sub-district, and district.

The former Minister of Defense said that one way to achieve this is through the red and white village cooperatives. According to him, village cooperatives will make farmers more prosperous as they act as off-takers of agricultural produce.

He also believes that the cooperative leaders at the village and sub-district levels will not run off with the money generated. "I want to look at the leaders of these cooperatives – your faces should not be the faces of people who would flee with the money overseas," he said.

President Prabowo delivered his remarks during the highlight of the 79th National Cooperative Day celebrations last Sunday. The event was held at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.
