Sultan Abdurrahman, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said he aims to create more job opportunities by expanding the country's entertainment and creative industries. To support the plan, he has instructed Danantara Investment Management to focus on promoting concerts and sports events across Indonesia.

Prabowo discussed the initiative during a meeting with Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said Prabowo and Rosan discussed potential new sources of economic growth that could be developed through Danantara.

"Potential new economic growth driven by Danantara includes strengthening the tourism sector through sports events, music concerts, and creative industries capable of creating jobs, attracting investment, and increasing national economic activity," Teddy said in a written statement.

Teddy said Prabowo also wants Danantara to improve the management of national assets through the transformation of state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

"Managing the nation's assets more effectively to generate greater benefits for the people," Teddy said.

The meeting also covered the ongoing consolidation of Indonesia's SOEs. The government is currently pursuing a policy to reduce the number of state-owned companies to improve efficiency and governance.

According to Teddy, around 258 of approximately 1,077 SOEs have been consolidated as part of the restructuring process.

"The consolidation and transformation process of SOEs is ongoing," Teddy said, citing Rosan's report to Prabowo.

He added that the government plans to continue reducing the number of SOEs, with a target of around 300 entities in the near future.

"The measure is expected to improve efficiency, strengthen governance, and reduce the financial burden previously carried by the state," Teddy said.
