Yustinus Paat, Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has reportedly detained several prosecutors and other individuals in a series of separate operations conducted over the past two days in Banten, Jakarta, and South Kalimantan.

According to information obtained, KPK investigators on Thursday detained three prosecutors assigned to Hulu Sungai Utara district in South Kalimantan. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the arrests but declined to disclose the identities of those detained pending the results of preliminary examinations.

"Our team conducted an operation in South Kalimantan today and detained six people," Budi said in Jakarta on Thursday.

A day earlier, KPK investigators detained nine individuals in operations carried out in Banten and Jakarta. "On Wednesday afternoon through late evening, our team secured nine people in the Banten and Jakarta areas," Budi said.

Of those detained on Wednesday, one was a law enforcement officer, two were lawyers, and six were private-sector individuals. Investigators also seized approximately Rp 900 million in cash as evidence.

Sources familiar with the matter said the law enforcement officer detained on Wednesday was a prosecutor assigned to the Banten Provincial Prosecutor's Office. The operation is believed to be linked to an investigation into alleged bribery involving the processing of foreign worker permits.

Budi said all individuals currently detained are undergoing intensive questioning. "We will provide a full explanation of the developments, legal status, chronology, and case construction once the examination process is complete," he said.
