Muhammad Aulia Rahman, Jakarta – The National Police have named Lisa Mariana, a social media personality who claimed to have been impregnated by former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, as a suspect in a defamation case, officials said on Sunday.
Police confirmed that DNA tests proved Lisa's daughter is not biologically related to Ridwan, who served as West Java governor from 2018 to 2023 and remains a prominent political figure.
"Tomorrow, LM will be summoned for questioning as a suspect," said Chief Commissioner Rizki Agung Prakoso, a senior investigator with the National Police's cybercrime division.
Rizki said the suspect designation was made last week, and Lisa received her official summons on Friday.
Police had previously attempted to mediate between Lisa and Ridwan on September 23, but the effort failed after Ridwan refused to settle and proceeded with legal action.
"Mr. Ridwan rejected mediation and chose to continue the case to its conclusion," said Muslim Jaya Butar Butar, Ridwan's legal counsel. "This decision is meant to set a deterrent example, as the defamatory statements have severely harmed my client's reputation."
Muslim added that the DNA results had fully disproved Lisa's claims, confirming Ridwan's innocence. "What Lisa Mariana said all this time has been proven false," he said.
Ridwan, an influential political figure, served as Mayor of Bandung before becoming Governor of West Java in 2018. He ran in the Jakarta gubernatorial election last year with backing from major political parties but lost to Pramono Anung, the candidate of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).
