Hammam Izzuddin, Jakarta – Indonesia's counterterrorism unit, Densus 88, has arrested four suspected terrorists in separate operations across West Sumatra and North Sumatra.

The suspects are believed to be linked to the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network and accused of spreading ISIS propaganda online.

"They were active on social media, producing and sharing propaganda and incitements to commit acts of terror," said Densus 88 spokesperson AKBP Mayndra Eka Wardhana in a written statement on Monday, October 7, 2025.

The first suspect, identified by the initials RW, was arrested in Padang on October 3. He allegedly created and distributed ISIS-related propaganda content.

Three more suspects were captured on October 6: KM in Pesisir Selatan, AY in Padang, and RR in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra. All are accused of promoting ISIS ideology and encouraging others to join extremist movements.

During the raids, police seized several items as evidence, including a green camouflage vest, papers bearing the ISIS logo, and three books titled Kupas Tuntas Khilafah Islamiyyah (Thorough Understanding of the Islamic Caliphate), Melawan Penguasa (Against the Ruler), and Al Qiyadah wal Jundiyah, which contain teachings on establishing an Islamic State.
