Dinda Shabrina, Jakarta – The University of Indonesia (UI) has announced regulations for its upcoming graduation ceremonies, which will be held on September 11-13, 2025, at Balairung Hall, Depok Campus, West Java.
Through its official Instagram account @univ_indonesia, the university stressed that graduates are prohibited from bringing banners, posters, or similar items. UI also banned attaching any writing or decorations to graduation attire, including robes, birettas (caps), and clothing.
"Bringing banners, posters, or the like is prohibited. It is also forbidden to attach writing on clothing, robes, birettas, or other parts," the announcement read on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Graduates are reminded to attend the event in an orderly and solemn manner while wearing modest and comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement, particularly when using the stairs.
The full list of 11 rules issued by UI is as follows:
1. Assemble at Balairung and enter through the designated door listed on the digital invitation.
2. Arrive at the assembly point on time: 07.30 AM for the morning session, 12.30 PM for the afternoon session, and 01.00 PM on Fridays.
3. Attend the ceremony in an orderly and solemn manner.
4. Wear complete graduation robes as prescribed.
5. Wear modest and comfortable clothing and footwear for easy movement.
6. Do not attach writing or decorations to robes, birettas, or other attire.
7. Do not bring banners, posters, or similar items.
8. Do not walk in and out or stand in groups during the event.
9. Do not smoke, including e-cigarettes, anywhere on campus.
10. Do not carry excessive baggage.
11. Follow the instructions of event officers at all times and do not disrupt the ceremony.
UI explained that the rules are designed to preserve the solemnity of the occasion and ensure the graduation ceremonies run smoothly.
