Ricky Juliansyah, Jakarta – The student alliance gathered in the Committee to Save People's Sovereignty (Sadar) released the survey's results on the performance of the Prabowo-Gibran government and their cabinet on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. The survey results indicate that 78.8 percent of respondents rate the government as failing to run the administration.
Chairperson of the Indonesian University Student Executive Board (BEM UI), Yatalathof Ma'shum Imawan, said the survey reached 560 respondents spread from Sumatra to Papua.
"We collected the public's concerns through a survey of 560 respondents from Sumatra to Papua," said Athof, as he is commonly known, on Monday night, October 19, 2026.
In the presentation of the survey results, the Sadar Committee noted several important figures that attracted public critical attention to economic, legal, environmental, and educational issues:
- 83.5 percent of respondents highlighted rampant deforestation and forest fires.
- 71.1 percent pointed out the high prices of necessities.
- 70.6 percent highlighted rampant corruption and abuse of state power.
- 67.4 percent noted the high cost of education.
- 62.7 percent pointed out the suppression of freedom of expression.
- 41.6 percent rated the economic and financial sectors as urgent for immediate improvement.
Athof emphasized that the survey serves as a strong warning for the government not to turn a blind eye to the realities faced by the public.
"The government must not close its eyes to the problems of the economy, democracy, law, environment, and education that concern the respondents," Athof stated.
The Sadar Committee is a coalition of various prominent student organizations in Indonesia, including BEM Universitas Indonesia (UI), Keluarga Mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Bandung (KM ITB), Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad), BEM Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), BEM Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), Serikat Mahasiswa Universitas Gadjah Mada (Sema UGM), BEM UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, BEM Universitas Airlangga (Unair), and BEM Universitas Brawijaya (UB).
The survey results are officially scheduled to be announced at the Proclamation Monument in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon. Following the release, students involved in the Sadar Committee will continue their activities by holding a mass action.
"To demand resolutions for various issues we've gathered, we will hold a mass action along with friends in the Tugu Tani area, Central Jakarta, starting at 15:00 WIB [Western Indonesian Time]," said Athof.
