Prior to this, the West Java BPBD confirmed that the collapse of the ceiling of Purwasari Community Health Center in Sukasari Village, Purwasari District, Karawang Regency, reported to have occurred on Wednesday night, was not caused by the earthquake. "This was not due to the earthquake," said Andrie Setiawan, a Public Relations Expert at the West Java BPBD, on Wednesday.
Andrie cited information from the Karawang BPBD, stating that the collapse of the Purwasari Community Health Center ceiling was due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, compounded by the weak condition of the concrete roof that could not withstand the load.
