Hammam Izzuddin, Jakarta – Vice Chairperson of Commission I of the House of Representatives Dave Akbarshah Fikarno Laksono stated that the revision of the TNI Law or TNI bill is set to be discussed in the level II plenary meeting on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
"God willing, it is scheduled for tomorrow, but I have not yet received the invitation. We are waiting for the Bamus to finalize the schedule, including the exact time," Dave said at the Parliament Complex in Senayan on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
Previously, Dave expressed uncertainty about the plenary meeting taking place as planned. He noted that the trial period, originally set to end on March 20, 2025, had been extended to March 25, 2025.
However, he now believes it is highly likely that the assembly will still proceed as scheduled.
On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission I held a working meeting at level I to discuss the revision of the TNI Law with the government. In the meeting, all factions agreed to bring the revision of the TNI Law to the plenary meeting.
Chairperson of the House of Representatives Commission I, Utut Adianto, stated that all factions had reached an agreement, although each provided their own remarks.
"Next, I seek your approval on whether the revision of the Bill to amend Law Number 34 of 2004 on the TNI can be approved and forwarded to the level II discussion at the plenary meeting for final approval," Utut said during the meeting.
