Andi Adam Faturahman, Jakarta – The National Mandate Party (PAN) has confirmed its support for President Prabowo Subianto's proposal to form a permanent coalition, a concept the latter introduced last month.

PAN's Deputy Chairperson Viva Yoga Mauladi stated that the relationship between PAN and Prabowo has been established for 15 years, so there is no doubt about their commitment and togetherness.

"[We are] not just ideological brothers. [The relationship between] PAN and Pak Prabowo is like brotherhood," said Viva at the PAN Central Leadership Council office on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Viva continued that PAN has consistently declared its commitment to supporting Prabowo's government programs. The reason is that PAN and Prabowo share a similar vision in their struggle.

He hopes the public will not doubt PAN's stance leading up to the 2029 presidential election. Viva assured that PAN will always stand with Prabowo, supporting the formation of a permanent coalition. "What should be asked is the other parties that are not loyal to Pak Prabowo," said the Deputy Minister of Transmigration.

PAN's Secretary-General Eko Hendro Purnomo emphasized that his party will be 100% with Prabowo in the upcoming presidential election. "We are fellow fighters, loyal friends. So, if asked whether [our support] for Pak Prabowo will continue, it's 100%," said Eko.

The idea of a permanent coalition was first raised by Prabowo in front of the General Chairpersons of the parties in the Indonesia Onward Coalition (KIM) during the 17th Anniversary of the Gerindra Party in Sentul, Bogor Regency, on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

PKB Chairperson Muhaimin Iskandar, who attended the event, explained that the idea of forming a permanent coalition was aimed at strengthening unity. "The essence is to strengthen the coalition. Pak Prabowo urges that unity is the main key to governance," he said.

Muhaimin also indicated PKB's positive reception of the idea. He believes that a permanent coalition is important to maintain political stability in the future. "So that there are no disturbances for at least the next five years," he said.

Gerindra Party Secretary-General Ahmad Muzani believes that the permanent coalition proposal from Prabowo will not interfere with the government's oversight process.

Muzani argued that the check and balance process does not necessarily have to come from political parties. "Yes, indeed, check and balance is not limited to political parties. The press is expected to provide perspectives that can offer alternative views," Muzani told the media at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
