Jamal Abdun Nashr, Magelang – Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Central Board, Puan Maharani, commented on the absence of nine regional heads from Bali at the retreat at the Magelang Military Academy from February 21 to 28, 2025.
According to Puan, their absence was not due to an order from the Chairperson of the PDIP Central Board, Megawati Soekarnoputri.
"There was no order," she said upon her arrival at the regional heads' retreat location in Magelang, Central Java, on Friday, February 28, 2025.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) affirmed that the PDIP regional head members will participate in the next round of the retreat. "God willing," she said briefly.
A total of 47 PDIP regional heads postponed their arrival on the first day of the retreat on February 21, 2025. They subsequently arrived in stages on February 23 and 24, 2025. Until the last day, nine regional heads from Bali had not yet arrived.
Previously, the PDIP Central Board, through a letter number 7294/IN/DPP/II/2025 regarding the daily instruction from the chairwoman, instructed its members holding regional head positions to postpone their trip to the retreat at the Magelang Military Academy.
In the letter signed by Megawati Soekarnoputri, the instruction was related to the legal case involving a PDIP cadre, Hasto Kristiyanto, at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
