Riri Rahayu, Jakarta – Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti has assured that the development project of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) will continue under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto. She stated that the head of state has directed the continuation of the new capital project.
"We will carry on with the ongoing work. We will complete everything," Diana said at the Presidential Palace Complex following the inauguration on Monday, October 21. "We will discuss any new matters with the IKN Authority."
The IKN development is planned in five stages until 2045. This project is estimated to require a budget of Rp466 trillion, allocated by the government from the state budget (APBN) at 20 percent and non-APBN sources at 80 percent. Up to the groundbreaking of phase VII, the incoming investment amounted to Rp58 trillion.
The continuation of IKN development has raised questions as Prabowo did not address it in his inaugural state address after being inaugurated at the MPR on Sunday, October 20.
However, according to Raja Juli Antoni, the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Solidarity Party, Prabowo is strongly committed to the development of IKN.
"He has repeatedly stated that he will continue and even complete it," Raja Juli said.
Previously, Raja Juli also served as the Acting Deputy Head of the IKN Authority. When asked about his status in the new administration, he declined to comment further, saying, "Please wait for the President's announcement."
