Dewi Elvia Muthiariny, Jakarta – President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has denied allegations of interfering in the formation of the cabinet for President-elect Prabowo Subianto. He emphasized that the cabinet formation is solely Prabowo's prerogative.

"I don't want to meddle, but if asked, I will respond," he said during the CEO 100 Forum Kompas at the Garuda Palace of Nusantara Capital (IKN), East Kalimantan, on Friday, October 11, 2024, as quoted from a video by the Presidential Secretariat.

He clarified that despite having a two-and-a-half-hour dinner with Prabbowo on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, it does not imply any involvement in the cabinet formation process.

"If not asked, I won't. Because I, too, do not want my prerogative to be interfered with by anyone," he added.

At the same event, Jokowi announced that Prabowo planned to inaugurate his ministers on Monday, October 21, 2024. He urged the public to await the official cabinet lineup.

Prior to this, Jokowi was rumored to have proposed several ministerial candidates and heads of state institutions to Prabowo. At least four ministers were suggested to fill the new cabinet in the next government. These ministerial candidates are close associates of the outgoing President.
