Jakarta – The Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) will have limited representation in the upcoming cabinet, despite its chairman, Prabowo Subianto, set to assume the presidency next month with full authority to appoint new ministers, a senior party executive revealed on Monday.

Gerindra's acting chairman, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said discussions on the cabinet composition are ongoing. However, he noted, "There will only be a few ministers from Gerindra."

Dasco confirmed that certain names have been considered during the cabinet formation process, though he declined to provide specific details.

"Mr. Prabowo is still finalizing the cabinet structure, including the total number of ministries and the qualifications required for ministerial candidates," Dasco said.

The new cabinet lineup is expected to be announced about a week after Prabowo's inauguration as president, he added.

Dasco hinted that the cabinet would likely feature more professionals than political party representatives.
