Tim Tempo, Jakarta – The Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has responded to the Kaskus social media account named Fufufafa, which has been accused of frequently attacking the party's patron chief and President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
The account's posts, allegedly belonging to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming, have recently been widely discussed by the public.
Dasco clarified that Prabowo has not given much thought to the account's uploads. "As far as I know, Prabowo is not overly concerned about it," he said at the Parliament complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, September 12, 2024.
He ensured that there had been no rift between Prabowo and the elected vice president Gibran, following the viral circulation of the account's uploads.
Dasco also stressed that the existence of the Kaskus account has never been a topic of discussion within the party. Thus, he denied any suggestion of a rift arising from the account's hateful content directed at Prabowo.
Gibran briefly responded to reporters' inquiries regarding his association with the Kaskus Fufufafa account. When questioned during a visit to Kampung Mutihan in Solo, Central Java, on Tuesday, September 10, Gibran simply directed the media to ask the account owner.
Budi Arie Setiadi, Minister of Communication and Information, also refuted the accusation. "No, it's not (Gibran's). I'll explain it to the DPR (House of Representatives). We'll investigate further, and the truth will undoubtedly be revealed. What's clear is that it doesn't belong to Gibran," Budi told the media at the Ministry Office in Central Jakarta on Thursday, September 12, 2024.
Similarly, the Palace denied the allegation that Gibran Rakabuming was behind the Kaskus Fufufafa account.
