Hendrik Khoirul Muhid, Han Revanda Putra, Moh. Khory Alfarizi, Jakarta – President and vice president-elect Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka have presented the Astacita program, or "eight goals", as their blueprint for the next five years. Similarly, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, during his last 10 years, outlined a benchmark for his duties, known as Nawacita or "nine goals".

Let's delve into the specifics of Praviwo's Astacita and Jokowi's Nawacita.

Prabowo's Astacita was previously mentioned by Mukhamad Misbakhun, a candidate member of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). During his fit and proper test, he emphasized that the audit institution's inspections should be aligned with the Astacita planned by the incoming government.

"In the future, BPK audits must be thematic, focusing on the eight key points to be achieved," said the member of House of Representatives (DPR) Commission XI from the Golkar Party faction at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, September 2, 2024.

Prabowo's Astacita

The Astacita was submitted to the General Election Commission (KPU) when the Gerindra Party patron chief registered himself as a prospective presidential candidate with his running mate, Gibran Rakabuming, on October 25, 2023.

Prabowo-Gibran officially registered with the KPU to participate in the 2024 presidential election on the same date. Their vision is "Together for Advanced Indonesia Towards Golden Indonesia 2045".

Their mission as outlined in Astacita is as follows:

1. Reinforce the ideology of Pancasila, democracy, and human rights (HAM).

2. Enhance the state defense and security system and foster national independence through self-sufficiency in food, energy, water, creative economy, green economy, and blue economy.

3. Elevate quality employment, encourage entrepreneurship, develop creative industries, and continue infrastructure development.

4. Strengthen the development of human resources (HR), science, technology, education, health, sports achievements, and gender equality, as well as empower women, youth, and people with disabilities.

5. Advance downstreaming and industrialization to increase domestic value-added.

6. Build from the grassroots level to achieve economic equality and eradicate poverty.

7. Strengthen political, legal, and bureaucratic reforms, as well as enhance the prevention and eradication of corruption and drugs.

8. Foster a harmonious coexistence with the environment, nature, and culture, and promote tolerance between religious communities to achieve a just and prosperous society.

Jokowi's Nawacita

During his ten years as head of state, Jokowi implemented the Nawacita, or "nine goals". These ideals were formulated by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) for the 2014 Presidential Election. At that time, PDIP supported Joko Widodo who was paired with Jusuf Kalla. In the 2019 Presidential Election, Jokowi continued to pursue these nine agendas.

The vision and mission outlined nine main agendas to continue the spirit of struggle and ideals of the First President of Indonesia, Soekarno, known as Trisakti (politically sovereign, economically independent, and culturally distinctive). The essence of Jokowi's Nawacita Program is:

1. Reinforce the state's role in protecting the entire nation and providing a sense of security to all citizens through an active free foreign policy, trusted national security, and the development of an integrated Tri Matra state defense based on national interests and a strengthened maritime identity.

2. Enhance government accountability by establishing clean, effective, democratic, and trusted governance, prioritizing efforts to restore public trust in democratic institutions through reforms to the party system, elections, and representative institutions.

3. Foster regional and village development within the framework of a unitary state.

4. Strengthen the state by reforming the system and law enforcement to ensure they are corruption-free, dignified, and trusted.

5. Improve the quality of life of the Indonesian people by enhancing the quality of education and training through the "Smart Indonesia" program; and improving people's welfare through the "Indonesia Kerja" and "Indonesia Sejahtera" programs by promoting land reform, a 9-hectare land ownership program, subsidized low-cost housing, and social security for the people in 2019.

6. Increase people's productivity and competitiveness in the international market to enable the Indonesian nation to advance and rise alongside other Asian nations.

7. Achieve economic independence by mobilizing strategic domestic economic sectors.

8. Undertake a character revolution of the nation through a policy of restructuring the national education curriculum, prioritizing civic education aspects that focus on teaching the history of the nation's formation, the values of patriotism and love for the country, the spirit of defending the country, and good character development in the Indonesian education curriculum.

9. Strengthen diversity and promote Indonesia's social restoration through a policy of strengthening diversity education and creating spaces for dialogue between citizens.
