Antara, Jakarta – Kaesang Pangarep, the youngest son of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, finally appeared in public on Wednesday night, September 4, 2024, following public criticism over his use of a private jet and left the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) puzzled about his whereabouts.

The General Chair of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) was seen at the PSI Office in Jakarta. "Hello everyone, good evening," he greeted reporters as he left the party's office.

He then walked to his car parked in front of the office. When questioned by reporters about the private jet facility, Kaesang simply laughed and got into the car. "I have to go, thank you all," he briefly said.

In line with the general chair, no PSI administrators were willing to talk about the alleged gratification involving a private jet. According to Ratu Isyana Bagoes Oka, a member of the PSI DPP Advisory Board, Kaesang had just concluded a closed party meeting that afternoon.

Isyana stated that the meeting, which lasted until the evening, was a routine coordination meeting. She denied that the meeting addressed the controversy surrounding the private jet used by Kaesang and his wife, Erina Gudono, for the United States trip.

Previously, on August 30, 2024, the KPK confirmed the plan to summon Kaesang for clarification of the alleged gratification as widely discussed on social media. However, the anti-graft body's Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata claimed that his side was unaware of Kaesang's whereabouts. Consequently, he did not know when or where to send the letter.

Alex's statement led to the emergence of posters with pictures of Kaesang and Erina that labeled them as "missing persons" with their complete identities and a satirical narrative.

The alleged gratification of using a private jet arose after Erina shared a photo of the plane's window on her Instagram story. The oval shape of the window raised suspicions among netizens, as it differed from the typically square windows of commercial planes. After investigation, it was suspected to be a Gulfstream G650 private jet with flight number N588SE.

Netizens subsequently uploaded a document clipping revealing that the private jet belongs to Garena Online (Private) Ltd, a business unit of Sea Group.

Gang Ye, a tycoon and high-ranking official of SEA Limited, is suspected to be the person who provided the private jet facility. Garena Online (Private) Limited is a subsidiary of SEA Limited, which also houses Shopee.
