Jakarta (Antara) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi has responded positively to the idea of the Presidential Club, which is a meeting between President-elect Prabowo Subianto and former presidents to discuss national issues. Jokowi supports the plan.
"Well, it's good," President Jokowi said when met after reviewing the EV exhibition, Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show, at the JI-Expo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Friday, May 3.
He also suggested that the event could be held once every two days. "I think once every two days is okay," Jokowi said.
Dahnil Azhar Simanjuntak, the spokesman for President-elect Prabowo Subianto, earlier revealed Prabowo's idea to form a presidential club with members of living former presidents.
The formation of the club, Dahnil continued, is expected that former presidents can continue to meet regularly and discuss strategic national issues.
Dahnil said Prabowo hoped that Indonesian leaders could be united and harmonious to participate in thinking and working for the interests of the people, regardless of their differences in views or political attitudes.
He also believes that when the time comes, Prabowo will meet the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Jokowi, the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri.
