PUPR ministry allots over Rp35 trillion for IKN development in 2024

Antara, Jakarta – PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono readies Rp35.45 trillion for the development of Nusantara Capital City (IKN) with the largest allocation for transportation infrastructure development.

"The allocation for (Directorate General) of Highways is Rp16.67 trillion to continue the construction of the West and East Sides of the National Axis Road, District Feeder Roads in the IKN area, Toll Road Sections 3A, 3B, 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, and 6C1, as well as the airstrip side of the IKN Airport," the Public Works and Housing Minister said in Jakarta on Monday.

The Directorate General of Human Settlements has been allotted Rp11.44 trillion to build supporting facilities for drinking water supply systems (SPAM), wastewater treatment plants (IPAL), integrated waste treatment sites (TPST), as well as the Presidential Palace area, and ministerial offices.

The Directorate General of Housing received a budget of Rp5.76 trillion to continue the construction of landed houses for ministerial positions and flats for ASN, TNI, and Polri.

Basuki stated that the Directorate General of Water Resources received an allocation of Rp1.58 trillion for flood control, improvement and arrangement of the Sepaku Semoi Dam area, and construction of the Government Center Core Area (KIPP) reservoir.

He said that as of March 21, 2024, over 89 construction packages with a total cost of Rp68.8 trillion have been developed in IKN.

The PUPR Minister also reported that his side spent Rp24.97 trillion to build IKN basic infrastructure in 2023. Directorate General of Water Resources used a total of Rp980 billion for the construction of the Sepaku Semoi Dam, Sepaku River raw water intake, KIPP reservoir, Mentawir reservoir, and main drainage.

The Directorate General of Highways used Rp11.43 trillion to build the IKN Toll Road Sections 3A, 3B, and 5A, KIPP Logistics Work Road, East and West Sides of the National Axis Road, Sepaku Ring Road, Mentawir Nursery Access Road, IKN VVIP Airport, and logistics docks.

A total of Rp8.29 trillion was allocated to the Directorate General of Human Settlements for the arrangement of National Axis I and II and Tripraja Axis, land development of Areas 1A, 1B and 1C, construction of ministerial offices and the Presidential Palace, IPAL, and TPST.

The Directorate General of Housing received an allocation of Rp4.24 trillion for the construction of housing for construction workers, ministers, ASN, TNI, and Polri.

"And Rp30 billion for the Directorate General of Construction to conduct training and certification of construction workers in IKN as well as management of structuring the procurement of goods and services," Basuki said.
