Adinda Jasmine Prasetyo, Jakarta – Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian pointed out the government's support to ensure the success of the 2024 Elections during a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission II on the evaluation of the simultaneous election at the DPR, Jakarta, on Monday, March 25.

Tito emphasized that the government's support was not intended to interfere in the conduct of the elections, but rather to help the General Elections Commission (KPU), which could not work alone given the complexity of Indonesia as a large country.

The assistance included the provision of population data, such as aggregate population data per district (DAK2) and potential voter data (DP4). The Ministry of Home Affairs provided the KPU with full access to this data.

In addition, the Ministry was actively involved in the e-ID or e-KTP recording to ensure optimal data completeness.

"During the campaign period, we also provided support, alongside the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and Linmas (local protection services) that is under the Regional Government and Satpol PP (Public Order Agency)," Tito said in his official statement on Monday.

Apart from that, Tito said the government was helping to speed up the distribution of election logistics as requested by the KPU, especially in hard-to-reach areas.

The government also tried to maintain the neutrality of the state civil apparatus (ASN) and to secure the budget for the 2024 elections.
